If the benchtop or splashback has strong veining, movement or texture, the cabinetry white should support it rather than compete with it.
A bold stone often works best with a quieter white. A soft, simple white allows the stone to become the feature. On the other hand, if the stone is very plain, the cabinetry profile, handles, lighting or joinery detailing may need to create the interest.
This is why stone and cabinetry should be selected together. Choosing the white first and the stone later can lead to undertone clashes.
